English: A Sri Lankan worker with his coconut rope, made in a traditional way with old equipment. Using a traditional technique, the workers make high-quality nets from the ropes, which are used in everything from fishing to construction. The ropes do not absorb moisture and are resistant to salt water.

This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: Removed minor chromatic aberrations, noise in the unsharp background, and the moiré in the purple parts of the sarong. Applied gentle sharpening and changed cropping to improve composition. Edits made in preparation for the FPC nomination period. Modifications made by Radomianin.
